The Gospel Music Workshop of America has always been one of the best opportunities to learn and practice the art of Gospel music and ministry. This has also launched the careers of many gifted songwriters and artists who have arisen through this yearly conference.

The 2004 recording hosted in Kansas City boasts nothing less than excellence.

The opening track “Hallelu, Hallelujah” sets the stage with a Caribbean musical vibe. This song was written by Debra L. Perry who is GMWA veteran better known for her work with the GMWA Women of Worship.

“When I See the Blood” is one of those anthem type of songs that becomes a classic. It is softly reminding us of the need for the blood of Jesus.

“Wait” is a Sunday morning rousing choir stomp! Encouraging and infectious is the vibe on this song. This is classic GMWA, definitely don’t miss this one.

Another hot number is ”Going All the Way.” This is song makes you feel right at home just like you were at church.

The song “Safety” is precious. Starting off just piano and the awesome vocals Crystal Rucker. This song speaks to you and that you are safe in Jesus no matter what the enemy throws at you. By far this is best song in this collection for the music and the ministry.

They get funky with “I Was Glad” reworking the old hymn. This has some great energy, definitely check it out!

Christopher L. Gray leads out on “Heaven.” Another tremendous song, hit repeat here!

As always GMWA hosts a who’s who of the best musicians in Gospel music. Even though they really didn’t break any new ground, the old saying “if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it” would apply here.

Overall they have delivered another great project.
