Ebony Cactus Magazine Wins 2006 Arizona AMBEC Media Award

Ebony Cactus magazine is the Winner of 2006 Arizona AMBEC Media Award
As part of the Minority Enterprise Development Week in September 2006,
the Ebony
Cactus magazine will be
presented the "Media Cornerstone Award" by the Arizona Minority
Business
Enterprise Center. A business development program, mission of the
AMBEC is to
provide professional business consulting services and technical
assistance to
minority business owners to manage and grow their business. The AMBEC
program
concentrates on rapid growth potential minority business enterprises
(MBE's)
e.g., those generating $500,000 or more in annual revenues or capable
of
generating significant employment and long-term economic growth. It is
a
non-profit organization, funded by the Minority Business Development
Agency,
U.S. Department of Commerce and operated by, the Arizona Hispanic
Chamber of
Commerce Foundation.
The Minority Media Cornerstone Award is presented to individuals or
organizations in the media who have demonstrated a sustained and
significant commitment to minority business growth and development and
to the
issues that impact them. This award also recognizes media entities
that have
traditionally provided coverage of minority business news at both the
national
and local
levels and have created new and significant market opportunities for
minority
businesses.
We at the Ebony Cactus are honored to be the first recipient in this
new award
category and recognize that without outstanding staff of writers,
photographers
and facilitators it would not have been possible. Most importantly you,
our
readers, spread the word about us, kept us on our toes and made us
improve.
