"Love and Basketball" is a story that spans fifteen years in the life of two basketball players, played by Sanaa Lathan and Omar Epps. This intense, emotional, sexy film is Gina Prince-Bythewood's directorial debut. From childhood sweethearts, to adult lovers, Lathan's and Epps' love and passion for one another and for the game is depicted as the two grow up and struggle to make it in their basketball careers.

The story begins when as a child, Lathan's character moves next door to Epps and the two begin a competitive friendship. They later deal with relationships with parents and peers. Their friendship moves to new level one night after a highschool dance. Attending the same University and playing on their respective basketball teams, they face challenges in their relationship and on the court.

Lathan struggles to hold her own on the team, while trying to maintain her romantic relationship with Epps. Lathan goes on to play professionally overseas, while Epps turns pro before finishing college. They meet again after a five year separation, and the audience is held captive with a storyline that does not reveal until the very end exactly where their relationship will lead.

The energy and chemistry in this romantic comedy is amazing. Don't miss it.
