You expect to be blessed at a concert where some of Gospel music's finest artists get together. But when they gather to celebrate the career of one of their own, you know the place will be filled with God's anointing.

And, on Good Friday, that's what happened at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden.

Hezekiah Walker invited several friends to perform with him to celebrate his 20th year in Gospel music. The event, which was hosted by Dr. Bobby Jones and Teresa Hariston, featured Pastor Donnie McClurkin, BeBe Winans, Fred Hammond, Deitrick Haddon, Israel Houghton & New Breed and Byron Cage.

The Brooklyn Steppers, a huge, energetic marching band, started things off with "I Believe I Can Fly", followed by the first performer, Byron Cage. From that moment on, it was nearly impossible to stay in your seat.

Early in the evening, Donnie McClurkin and others gathered on stage to give Walker letters and proclamations from fans and dignitaries.

The night was filled with many memorable performances. Deitrick Haddon's "Sinner's Prayer" was certainly one of the evening's highlights. And while it's hard to choose a favorite, Fred Hammond, who is a zealous live performer, kept the worshipers on their feet. Hammond was the only artist summoned back to the stage for a short encore.

It was after 11:30PM by the time Hezekiah Walker reached the stage for his performance. He pointed towards the audience and said, "Somebody's miracle is just around the corner." He then asked the crowd to help him sing "I Need You to Survive."

A few minutes past midnight, Walker left the stage and the crowd filed out of the Theatre seemingly happy to have been a part of Walker's milestone celebration in Gospel music.
