Professor Wilbur Belton & LADWEC’s song “Come Bless His Name”, one of the hottest choir songs to hit radio in recent memory, catapulted the church ensemble to instant popularity. Produced by GRAMMY, Dove and Stellar Award winner Steven Ford, the debut project introduced the dynamic choir to the gospel music scene. The song was also the force behind the group’s 2007 EnSound Award, a 2007 Washington Area Music Award Nomination for Best Mass Choir, a 2005 Gospel Award for Best Traditional Choir, and The Community Choir Award. In a season where church choirs are quickly dwindling, Professor Belton & LADWEC continue the legacy of powerful church-friendly music with their upcoming release, the 11-track “Great & Mighty”., hitting stores on Tuesday, August 5, 2008.

Super producer Steven Ford returns to the helm and Belton shines as principal writer of the CD, “Great & Mighty”. The Washington, D.C. native, Professor Wilbur Belton is best known as a supreme musician, arranger, and songwriter. Many may not know that Professor Belton is the uncle to contemporary gospel icon Tye Tribbett. With experience as a recording artist having worked with artists such as Vickie Winans, Marvin Sapp and Dorinda Clark-Cole, Belton brings, along with his 22-member choir, a wealth of experience to gospel music.

The independent release on the LADWEC Music Ministry label is available for pre-orders on Amazon.com and will be available at major retailers on August 5, 2008.
