If you were in the audience at the Friendship West M.B. Church on this night there is no way you could not have enjoyed yourself. Just from hearing the album you can tell it was a spirit and praised filled night in Dallas, Texas as legendary gospel group, The Mighty Clouds of Joy recorded their latest live album entitled Movin’. The album titled was definitely descriptive of the musical experience throughout the album. With several albums, live studio recorded it was a pleasure to listen to a magnificent group perform and prove the reasoning for their extensive existence in the gospel arena.

The group starts out with their traditional 2 step sound with the straight forward message ‘Jesus Will Turn It Around’ and the energy filled ‘Movin’. The spirit eased in during ‘Rain on Me’ as the group asked that the Lord pour blessings upon them. There was a party going on and the only cover charge was that you bring praise on ‘B.Y.O.P (Bring Your Own Praise)’. The Mighty Clouds and the band were in sync and worked the crowd participation in well to make this the perfect musical experience.

The motivational ‘God Hears’ gives the listener the inspiration to stay focused and practice faith in God. “‘You may not see it right now but it’s already done” is the keywords to know that the Lord hears your cry and will answer the prayers of the righteous in due time. The message flows right into the next ballad ‘God Hears’ which continues to emphasize the fact that although it may nay not think He does, God hears your prayers and will answer when He is ready. The group shows vocal ability and an abundance of energy as they praise God will all their might throughout the whole album. “I want to be Used, I want to be used by Jesus” is a portion of the chorus on ‘Fire’, which is what the group was on as they belted out the powerful message to the crowd.

It’s god to see that this mighty group is still able to sing and perform God’s word with such grace.. With several albums, greatest hit collections and live and studio recorded albums, it was a pleasure to listen to a magnificent group prove the reasoning for their extensive existence in the gospel arena. You will definitely witness a Movin’. The spirit will move through you and your body will be rocking, hands clapping and feet will be stomping to this album
